BERWICK ST JAMES PUMPKIN 5 AND 10KM
RACES
We are pleased to announce that
we will be hosting the 2nd Pumpkin 5km and 10km races on Saturday
25th September 2010.
WHAT IS THE LINK WITH PUMPKINS
An annual event in the village
is the Pumpkin Competition in Sep, held at the Boot Inn. The competition has several classes ranging
from the longest carrot to the heaviest pumpkin. The competition is now in its second decade
and is great day out for the family.
This year we have coincided the race with the Pumpkin Competition, so
why not stay after the race and join in with the fun at the pub.
RACE LOCATION
Please see the ‘location’ tab
on the website for directions to Berwick St James.
RACE HQ
The race HQ/Start and finish is
all at the Berwick Guide Centre. This
provides excellent facilities including toilets. Parking will be available in the field behind
the Guide Centre depending on the weather conditions, if very wet, parking will
be along the high street. The Berwick
Guide Centre is located on the southern end of the village, but will be clearly
signed from both directions.
THE ROUTES
You are invited to join us for
a scenic run around the beautiful village of Berwick St James. The route for both the 5 and 10km is
initially challenging, but offers breathtaking scenery once at the top! The routes each consist of a 1 lap
multi-terrain route, running along public and private restricted by ways. Challenging courses that will prepare you
well for the Autumn half marathons or simply provide you with a great sense of
achievement if this is your first race.
We encourage walkers and invite
dogs on a lead on the 5 km route! So
whatever your ability come and join us!
Unfortunately cyclists will not
be permitted.
TIMINGS Race entries will be taken from
0900hrs. The 5km and 10km will start at
1100.

awarded to the 1st and 2nd Open Male and Female. 1st Male Veteran over 40/50/60 and
1st Female veteran over 35/45/55.
