The Village Fete, Dog Show and Duck Race 2011Raises an Amazing Record Breaking £2417.39!! What a fantastic day! The photos below were taken by Neil McDougall and they clearly show what wonderful event it was. The money raised will help maintain the village church, the Reading room and also go into the Village Community Fund. Well done go to all involved especially to the Humphreys for allowing the fete to take place at their lovely house and gardens. The results of the 2011 compititions were as follows: Dog Show WinnersBest in Show pedigree; Mr Boobyer's German Shepherd "Blade" from Melksham Best Puppy; Mr Bryant's Lhaso Apso "Bailey" from Tisbury. Best in Show Novelty; Ms Rowe's Border Terrier "Barley" from Berwick St James. Best Village Dog. The Brandy Cup. The Humphrey family's Working Cocker "Weasel". The judge was Mr David Wood from Wincanton. The Quiz was won by Rosie Gairdner with every question right. Second place Gav Stephenson with only one wrong. The answers are on the Village Noticeboard by the Bus Shelter. Nicky Street has the corrected entries if you would like yours back! Duck Race. Winners Children's Race Duck 61. The Humphrey Children. The Village Fete, Dog Show and Duck Race 2010 Raised a Record Breaking £2345.55 The 2010 Fete was another fantastic event blessed with superb sunny weather. It raised an amazing amount for such a small village and we are all delighted. Well done to Sarah Humphries and all those who helped make this a wonderful day.
